…And then Friday. Seeing how well Katelyn’s first day of school went, I didn’t even think her second day might have issues… well I dreaded that might happen but I didn’t really think it would, so I was shocked when she told me she didn’t want to go that morning. I couldn’t figure out what had happened to make her change her mind. Then she said something about the “lympics” and I realized that she knew that day was the gymnastics day. (Ever since the Olympics she confuses the two.) I finally told her that she could go to school and not do gymnastics after school if she didn’t want to. She then lit up and smiled and said, “okay!” She got into Amanda’s van without so much as a “I’ll miss you Mom” and was off before I knew it! That was all it seemed to take, for when she came home in the afternoon she was overflowing with excitement about gymnastics; how she “hung on the rings, and did a bridge on the mat, and did sommersaults into the squishy stuff, and walked on the beam and fell off a couple of times, and even got to do a flip on the bar!!!” After getting through all of that she told me about how she learned the letter H in class and showed me her H book and her new hat decorated with tons of stickers – her favorite little treasures in the world! We had a big discussion about how sometimes things seem scary, but that’s just because they’re new and if we just give it a try we’ll probably love it! She agreed whole heartedly and has loved school ever since, and wishes gymnastics was everyday!

Yeah for Katelyn! That’s so great. So, for future reference, what’s the name of this wonderful pre-school? You will have to let me know.

She is the cutest 4 year old I’ve ever seen! I love the pretty hair-dos, and cute pink outfit. Good luck with all the fun things she’ll bring home and never want you to throw away. We have two pictures on our fridge from Katelyn that she asks about EVERY time she comes over. When she first gave them to me she made me promise we would always keep them, little did I know her memory was so good. Hopefully she grows out of that stage before H is old enough to make things, or we’ll run out of fridge space…fast.

I bet that is a relief!

I just read all of your Katelyn-isms, and I was seriously laughing out loud!! My favorite is the most recent with her profound statement about right and wrong
Love you guys!
