….was a week ago but I haven’t really had time to write a post since then so here it goes (better late than never, right?) It was awesome! As usual I was being me and told BriAnne that I just want to let it pass right by (except for honoring her dad and mine) but BriAnne being BriAnne wasn’t about to let that happen.  And she didn’t.  She and the kids showered upon me an assortment of gifts that would have made Amon-her-khepshef Khaemwaset (Ramesses IX) jealous. Since I don the garb and live the life of your typical white collar office job dramatis personae, I just don’t get much exercise on any kind of regular basis. As such I figured I would start running on our treadmill each night for a mile or 6.  It’s been great, except I wear the same pair of running shoes that were worn out when I took them on my mission 9 years ago. So, my first gift from BriAnne was a new pair of Nike running shoes.  Now I can actually run pain free! They are really great. Next were two new pair of basketball shorts to run in, which were actually from Katelyn.  Last but not least, little Ethan gave me a new pair of jeans which I’ve been needing for a little while now. After gifts we went to church and BriAnne took Ethan to YW’s with her so that I could actually attend all of elder’s quorum for the first time in months. Oh, probably the highlight was hearing my friend Clayton speak in sacrament. He’s a brand new dad which apparently made him the target of a father’s day talk, poor guy. He ran with it though and did a great job, not to mention shared some of the funniest jokes I’ve heard in a long time in any sacrament meeeting. After church we went to my parent’s place where we enjoyed a fine meal in their backyard with an assortment of family. It was all pretty low key and relaxing, just the way I like it.
