illone1.jpgThis past week has been adventurous for our family, and it all started with a few sniffles last week coming from little Ethan’s direction. We thought he might have picked up the cold that every other little kid in the neighborhood and ward has, but he progressively got worse and started to have weaziness in his breathing and seemingly constricted lungs. So, BriAnne ran him to the doctor and they diagnosed him with a severe cold, double ear infections and what we dreaded might be RSV turned out to be a touch of winter-induced asthma. They sent us home with 5 different prescriptions and a little machine that vaporizes medicine for him to breathe.  He’s doing much better now but there’s nothing scarier than having kids get that sick! On Friday night I had the jazzgame1.jpgopportunity of going with my dad, uncle and cousin to a Jazz game, my first in probably 10 years. We had great seats on the 17th row, and they beat the L.A. Clippers to a bloody pulp. After the game we partook of some excellent, calorie and jazzlogo.jpgcholesterol packed pastrami burgers at Crown Burgers just a few blocks from the Energy Solutons Arena. Finally, on Sunday BriAnne officially began her calling as the Young Women’s president in our ward.  It’s a big calling which she is a bit nervous about, but anyone who knows her knows that she will do a phenomenal job! She is excited to get to know her counselors and dive into the responsibilities.

The holidays were an exciting time in our neck-o-the-woods! Katelyn now understands the concept of Santa Clause and was so excited the last few weeks leading up to Christmas that she could harldly contain it. We were planning on spending Christmas morning at our christmas-and-new-years-2007-005.jpglittle place but decided at the last minute on the 24th to haul all of our stuff over to my parents house in Pleasant Grove and spend the night there. I had been looking forward to doing our own thing but am glad we decided to spend the night. My twin brother and his wife and kids were there as well so it was fun for our kids to be with their cousins as well. Come Santa did and we all got what we wanted: BriAnne got a new pink Dyson vacuum, I got a Cabela’s Big Sky 20-60x66mm high definition extra dispersion (to eliminate chromatic distortions at all maginification levels) with built in sun shade spotting scope, Katelyn got more princess dress up outfits than she’ll be able to wear all year, and Ethan got clothes and chew toys. Instead of buying gifts for our siblings and parents this year we opted as an extended family to give money to a family in need, which is always a great experience.
We spent New Years at BriAnne’s parents in Tooele and that was fun as well. Most of herchristmas-and-new-years-2007-051.jpg siblings were in town as well as much of the extended family (the final count of people staying at their house was 46, which made for a fun crowd!) As usual my brothers-in-law and I spent part of the time watching bowl games on my father-in-law’s 60″ tv…it have been a shame not to! Here are a few pictures of mostly New Years (we forgot to take our camera to my parents place but my dad is the king of picture and video taking so we’ll get pictures from him). We hope you had a great holiday season as well!
